Yep, it was time for another first. I had been putting this one off for over a year! Since the time when Samantha's hair began to grow long and I would see my friends post "First Hair Cut" photos on Facebook, I have been nervously anticipating this day. There is just something about those baby curls. I didn't want to lose them. Samantha has beautiful golden hair that curls in sweet little ringlets at the bottom. I love it.
Shortly after her second birthday her hair began to get a little wild...or she did. Maybe it was a combination of both. Along with turning two years old comes a desire for independence and a need to show others that you have your own opinions, desires, and we'll call it style. Especially to your mom. So, Samantha began to fuss about wearing hair ties and bows. I could no longer keep a clip in her hair and she would yank out the cute pigtails I love so much. She wanted her hair down and free, much like her new free and independent personality.
It was time. I needed to get my baby's hair trimmed. Thankfully, my good friend Cece offered to come over and trim Samantha's hair. She did such a good job! Sammie and Cece love each other and Cece treats Samantha with genuine interest and respect. The evening turned out to be a fun time at my dining room table. Cece cut hair while Samantha ate a cookie and kept us entertained with her silliness. I could see that Samantha really enjoyed getting her hair done. She felt like a big girl...hot stuff. In the end, Samantha's hair looks healthier, it lays nicer - even without a hair clip, and it curls even better than before!!! This mama is so happy to still have the baby curls!

Oh my gosh! She is so precious I can't stand it! That was simply adorable. My little girl is such a little lady, just like her mama.
