Preschool Open House

We attended Samantha's Preschool Open House/Art Show last night. I've been to many Open House nights, but this was my first time attending as a parent instead of a teacher. It was so much fun.
(I'm so sorry I didn't bring my camera. All of the photos are from Joe's phone and a little blury)

For the past week the teachers have been preparing their classrooms for this special night. They hung drapes over the walls to keep all the art covered until the Open House.

I can't express how impressed I was. Preschool teachers work hard! All the art projects were so cute and creative! It was fun to find which ones belonged to our daughter and praise her on her good work.

As a family, we looked at all of the art displays from Samantha's class and had a few moments to talk to her teacher, Miss Teri. It was nice to be able to hear how Sam is doing in class. The morning time during drop-off is simply too hectic to ever really talk about things. She was very complimentary about Samantha's vocabulary and intelligence. She said how sweet Samantha was and how all the teachers love her. Even the 3 year old teachers were "fighting" over who would have Sam in their class next year!

Samantha was most excited to show us her "big gween monster". She ran to the wall and pointed them out. She jumped up and down, all smiles and squeels, while Ms. Teri shared with us the Big Green Monster book that all the children love.

Then she showed Daddy her Very Hungry Caterpillar and butterfly.

A wall of dinosaurs.

More precious art.

After viewing all of our daughter's beautiful art work and talking to Ms. Teri we walked across to the cafeteria for some ice cream. Samantha loved her ice cream with chocolate sauce and sprinkles. A few of the playground teachers were there to chat with us. Everyone was so sweet and said how much they love Samantha. Even the cafeteria lady said how much she enjoys the hug she gets from Sam at snack time. It feels really good as a parent to know that your child is loved and cared for at school. I feel very blessed to have Samantha in such a caring environment with such wonderful teachers. It was a great evening!
